Disparity Between Travelers and Issued Thailand Passes?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the disparity between Travelers and issued Thailand Passes. For those who are unaware, the Thailand Pass is kind of the legacy documentation to the Certificate of Entry. It is required even in addition to a Visa and those who want to come into Thailand have to get this document issued in order to be cleared to come into Thailand before they even get on the plane, again even if they have a visa to come to Thailand or a re-entry permit for that matter.

So the reason for this video is I have had a number of clients we have talked to as well as friends and things who are dealing with some of this on their own who have noted that there is a major disparity, or seems to be, between the number of travelers that are looking to use the Thailand Pass system and the number of actually issued Thailand Passes. So the numbers that I have seen and this is primarily anecdotal so don't take this as just the end all be all with respect to the numbers but it looks like there are about 65,000 folks that have been looking in the past week, 10 days to come into Thailand on a Thailand Pass and about 12,000 actually issued Thailand Passes. Now I am sure by the time this video gets published those numbers will have changed a little bit but if that stays in the same ratio, that is like a 20% issuance to applicant ratio. I am sure there are folks that are or might be a little bit concerned about numbers like that.

The thing to take away from this video from what we are reading, yeah it takes a minute okay? The system is just coming online. I am not, as folks know who watch this video, I am not always going to be just an apologist for what is going on in the Immigration apparatus but credit where credit is due, they are doing the best they can and this is a new system. I would say be patient for just a little while longer while everybody kind of gets this thing going; gets the thing moving; gets the conveyor belt moving so to speak and then once it is moving along, hopefully it will move rather smoothly and we will start seeing more of a parody between those seeking Thailand Passes and those getting them issued.
