As the title of this video suggests, we are posing the question, "what is an SHA+ Hotel here in Thailand?" Now for those who are unaware, this new scheme if you will they use more the British term "scheme" for this, we have gone down to what I am kind of calling "quarantine free" arrival for certain folks from certain countries and this is happening under the "Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration" system. 

Long story short, we are seeing folks be able to come into Thailand and essentially stay when you get here and be "quarantine free". You have got to undergo tests; you got to have your vaccines in order but once you arrive there is a bit of a brief interregnum, a brief delay while you undergo one final test and presuming you come up negative in that test then off you go. You are free to go on your travels here in the Kingdom. 

Part of the part and parcel of this is the requirement of these SHA+ hotel accommodations. A lot of folks have kind of asked: “what is that?” I am taking this from Thailand Pass FAQ, from the mfa.go.th website. That is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, specifically Department of Consular Affairs and here under number 10, "What are AQ and SHA+ hotels? And specific to this video "SHA+ hotels/accommodations are hotels that meet the "Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration" standards and are eligible to be used as hotels under the Sandbox Programme and as venues to await your RT-PCR result under the Exemption from Quarantine Scheme. 

So that basically sums it up. So those who are coming through the Sandbox or those who are coming through on this Exemption from Quarantine Scheme, those are going to be the folks that can go ahead, well you are going to use those SHA+ hotels and you are either going to have a very truncated quarantine or virtually no quarantine at all so long as you meet all the requirements. You come in, you go through the process and then you are free to go and travel about the country.
