Many Immigration Systems Are Difficult, You Just Don't See Yours

Transcript of the above video:

The title of this video might confuse some and the reason for the video is I hear a lot of complaints from expats, especially new expats, when they are dealing with the Immigration system. For example folks out here in Thailand or in some cases maybe not expats but for example Americans that may be processing for example like a K-1 Fiancé Visa or a US Marriage Visa for their spouse to go back to the United States and they really kind of get frustrated with the timing issues associated with it; all the bureaucracy; the "hoops" that you have to jump through to get the visa issued. I oftentimes find myself on the receiving end of some really frustrated correspondence.

The long story short is, a lot of Immigration systems are very difficult to deal with. It is just most people don't really know this because they never deal with their own Immigration system because they don't need to. They are citizens of their own country and they don't need to deal with the Immigration system in their own country. It is only when you either move abroad or you need to assist someone else in dealing with your own Immigration system that you come to find that "oh my gosh, this is a really complex thing to deal with," and in many cases it can be kind of cumbersome to deal with.

So the reason I am making this video is especially new expats and by new I mean you might be older but you are first coming to live abroad and you have never really dealt with an Immigration system, it is not a good idea to get overly frustrated especially at the outset of dealing with it because you are going to be dealing with it pretty frequently and getting upset about it, especially getting upset at folks that you are going to be dealing with in that Immigration apparatus, can really have long-term ramifications that may not be to your benefit.
