New Airline Rules for Travelers in Thailand?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing new Airline rules which appear to be coming in to affect presently here in the Kingdom of Thailand.

We are going to go ahead and throw this up on screen. The title of this is CAAT, (that is the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand) Tightens Measures against COVID-19 for Air Travel. Issued on 1 May, 2021. I am going to go ahead and try to keep this up here on screen because I am not going to read all of this but as you can see, they are looking to restrict time so from 23:00, so 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. no flights coming in then.

- Flight changes and cancellations, they are trying to encourage consolidation of flights;

- passengers are required to wear face masks;

- body temperature must be measured using infrared thermometer; any person who does not have a mask or has a temperature higher than 37.3 degrees Celsius will be prohibited from entering the airport;

- passengers will undergo a temperature check again before leaving the airport;

this is kind of critical I think this is a bit new

- if a passenger has a temperature higher than 37.3° Celsius or has respiratory symptoms, airport officials must immediately inform local Health Officials, that is pretty interesting;

-  Airline should arrange seats in the aircraft appropriately in line with the number of passengers on each flight, that is social distancing stuff;

- confirmed patients or high-risk persons must refrain from traveling, well that is kind of commonsensical.

So again this is from CAAT. They do appear to be tightening up certain protocols associated with airplane travel both within the Kingdom and presumably in an international context. So clearly this is this is rather major development. We will keep you updated on the situation as it evolves.
