Overstay and TM30 Continue to Concern Thai Immigration

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the TM30 as well as overstay concerns which continue to be a major issue with Thai Immigration. They continue to zealously be enforcing Immigration laws.

In a recent article from the Nation Thailand, that is nationthailand.com. The article is titled: Zambian Arrested on Charges of Overstaying Visa, Animal Cruelty. We are not really going to be getting into the animal cruelty side of this article. It is quite unfortunate what happened and the circumstances in this case. I urge those who are watching this video to check out this article directly. Again, it is titled Zambian Arrested on Charges of Overstaying Visa, Animal Cruelty. Quoting directly: "Thai Immigration Police have arrested a Zambian man for allegedly overstaying his visa and committing cruelty against his dog following a Facebook post that sought help for the dog. " Quoting further: "Police will also summon the owner of the room who faces a fine for not reporting to Immigration Officials that he had rented his room out to a foreigner." There is a lot more in this article specifically on the issue surrounding the animal in question. I thought it was very insightful. Two things going on here: First of all, overstay a major issue and also the police are summoning the owner of the premises because technically speaking TM30s need to be filed by owners of premises that are housing foreigners for longer than 24 hours.

It appears to me Thai Immigration is not taking the TM30 matter lightly. So moving forward, I think it is fairly safe to presume they will continue not taking this lightly and those who are in the Kingdom who have Non-immigrant status and are foreign Nationals need to be aware of TM30 and probably need to go ahead and get TM30 filed and dealt with in order to maintain one's status here in the Kingdom.
