Royal Thai Consulate Penang to Begin Online Appointments

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the Royal Thai Consulate in Penang, Malaysia and Visa appointments, application appointments associated therewith.

In an announcement on the website of the Royal Thai Consulate, Penang, there was this statement: "Starting on February 6th all Visa applicants are required to make online appointments before visiting the Embassy. This is to minimize waiting time and a long queue.  A web link for making appointment will be available soon."

Obviously this video was made after that February 6th date. As of now we have yet to actually see the web link enabled for making online appointments and we processed or assisted some folks in processing a couple of cases here in the last couple of weeks and we have been constantly checking and there has been nothing so I decided to go ahead and do this video just as kind of a public service announcement, for lack of better term., with respect to this issue.

Those who are looking to file for a Visa down in Penang, I strongly recommend you go ahead and check out the website and ascertain whether or not they are doing online appointments before making irrevocable travel plans to go down there and process a visa through. The Thai Consulate in Penang is a rather popular visa run destination, especially for those who are in the south of Thailand, especially Phuket, and business visas are also routinely sought from that particular Consulate. I know there is a fair number of people that usually process through that particular post. It is probably a good idea to go ahead again check the website before going down there, to ascertain whether or not you need to go ahead and do an online visa appointment.
