At the moment we are along the Thai Cambodian border. In fact behind me if you look, is the Khlong Leuk Border checkpoint right here; it's the border point. We are at Aranyaprathet, Thailand, this is on the border between Thailand and Cambodia, as you can see, or you might not be able to see. Maybe we can pan around here or something, we might throw it on a B roll or something. It's pretty quiet around here. I mean there's not a lot going on. As folks may be aware, there's tensions between Thailand and Cambodia; this border is not currently open. We are actually up here at the moment. I made videos contemporaneously with this one for our new channel, the Integrity News Service, as well as for main Integrity where I'm explaining that I actually bought a house up here right before all this sort of blew up - we're currently renovating it, well we're in the process of doing that, that's something we're going to be doing in segments - I call Checkpoint Benji, which is going to be on the new Integrity News Service channel. 

But I thought of making this one because look I'm talking a lot right now about the border. We have talked a lot about the border on the channel; we have talked about how border issues are having an impact on foreigners here in Thailand and how heightened scrutiny associated with Border Runs are having an impact on the expat world. But I thought I'd go ahead and do a quick video here from the actual border just to show that yeah “all this quiet on the Eastern Front” as they say and for the moment there's not much action if you will going on along the border because it's closed, and we were just talking to a Police Officer up here who said that yeah, there's a little bit of interaction among the Khmer and Thai folks that may, I don't think it's happening today particularly, but there are Border Passes and things of this nature where the folks that live up along here, there may be various intervals where some sort of interaction or interchange, however you want to look at that may occur. But for foreigners, especially Westerners, folks from the Anglosphere whatever, yeah this is not a viable option for doing Border Runs at l the moment. 

That said, hopefully as the tension between Thailand and Cambodia hopefully subsides and we see them coming to the table for some kind of agreement to get this border open, maybe we will see some further commerce and some further activity thereafter. But that said, especially in light of recent events, I don't think that's going to happen particularly soon, although it's not a foregone conclusion that this border is going to stay closed for a particularly prolonged period of time. That said, we will certainly be keeping you updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
