Thailand Holding "Bubble Talks" on "Travel Corridors"?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing so-called "bubble talks". This is kind of a euphemism which was made in the article I will cite later on in this video wherein we are talking about discussions between officials in Thailand I should say and officials in other countries regarding country to country travel during this COVID-19 situation.

In a recent article from the Bangkok Post, that is bangkokpost.com. The article is titled: Thailand, Singapore In Talks to Ease Business Travel Restrictions. Quoting directly: "Both Permanent Secretaries and that is Permanent Secretaries of the Foreign Ministries between Thailand and Singapore, quoting directly: "Permanent Secretaries had productive talks on strengthening the resilience of supply chains and connectivity networks and agreed to expedite ongoing discussion to facilitate essential business travel through reciprocal "Green Lane" arrangements." They go on to note "Thailand is holding "Bubble Talks" with some countries including Japan and Hong Kong, while the island state hopes to open up travel with neighboring Malaysia and Indonesia." When they say the "Island state" I think they mean Singapore.

So interesting things going on here. Thailand seems to be trying in earnest to open up some bilateral "Travel Corridors" with various jurisdictions both in Southeast Asia as well as noted, Southern China in the form of Hong Kong.

We will keep you updated on this channel as this progresses but presumably if there is a "Travel Corridor", there could be options for Immigration into Thailand via those corridors and exactly how that would play out remains to be seen.  I could see situations where it might be rather protracted and maybe a little bit complex, travel arrangements could be made to go through one of these other countries in order to subsequently enter Thailand during this rather convoluted travel period that we are currently dealing with.
