As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing European tourists here in Thailand; I'll just jump in here. I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Bangkok Post, bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: Thailand 'top choice' in Asia for European tourists. Quoting directly: "Thailand is the top destination in Asia among European tourists, according to a survey by Agoda. European tourists search Agoda for hotels in Phuket the most, followed by Bangkok and Krabi, said Pierre Honne, senior country director for Thailand. Most of them are from the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands."

Well, I'm not really all that surprised by this but I think it is worth noting that yeah Thailand is not only a top destination among Europeans, I would say it's a top destination among travellers around the globe because it's such an interesting country. It's so unique culturally. It really is, there really is no other place I have ever been that has quite the attraction as Thailand; it's just not the same. I don't know how to put it any other way. I have been to other cool places: Vietnam and Cambodia, Laos, I have been to Myanmar; they have their own issues at the moment, but I've been around a little bit. I have been to China - well I've been to Hong Kong and Macau, Taiwan- I haven't actually been on mainland China, Japan, Korea. I have been to all those places and honestly even in Asia, Thailand stands out, it is truly unique, both culturally, socially. It has a really low cost of living so you can have a high standard living if you want to be here as like a long-term tourist, so it's not surprising to me at all that it would be considered one of the premiere destinations for Europeans who are wanting to travel abroad.
