"Vaccine Tourism" in Thailand?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests we are discussing the notion of "vaccine tourism." I actually had this article sent to me by somebody who views this channel and I thought it was noteworthy I think, so we went ahead and made this video.

This comes from Bloomberg, bloomberg.com, the article is titled: "Vaccine Tourism" Replaces Vacation Travel. Quoting directly:  "Frustrated by crashing appointment websites, shortages of COVID-19 shots and a patchwork of confusing eligibility rules, people with time and money are heading out of town in pursuit to a potentially life-saving inoculation. Vaccine seeking tourists are showing up in Miami, at beach resorts in Hawaii, ski towns in Colorado and in New York City which has received more doses than other parts of the state as well as nearby New Jersey and Connecticut. There is no national data yet states that keep track suggest that tens of thousands of Americans are traveling for the vaccine."

Again someone sent me this who watches this channel. We thank them very much and basically they said "do I think that Thailand may see something like this?" I think presently probably not. We are it is my understanding and I don't want to get too much into this because it is not really the scope of this channel, but it is my understanding that as yet there are still major packages if you will of the vaccine en route but they have yet to arrive in Thailand so there has not been widespread inoculation yet happening although I think as at least as the time of this video that is expected imminently and we should be seeing major dosages arriving shortly. But do I think that there is going to be "vaccine tourism" anytime soon? Probably not, although I could see it being for lack of a better term built in to a medical tourism package that we might see later in the year especially from other countries that don't have as easy access to the vaccine. Again, especially in light of the fact that Thailand probably will be producing, manufacturing the vaccine shortly; that is based on what we have been reading in a lot of the press here in Thailand as of recently. As far as vaccine tourism anytime soon like we are seeing in the US, I don't think that is probably likely at least in the forthcoming weeks possibly even months but it could be something we see later on this year as 2021 rolls on.
