Could Thailand See a Reduction of Quarantine Time from 14 to 7 Days?

Transcript of the above video:

At the title of this video suggests we are discussing quarantining in Thailand.

There has been a lot of speculation, a lot of discussion recently about the possibility, and I think this has come up most notably in the Special Tourist Visa context, of quarantining for less than 14 days. There has been speculation and discussion about the possibility of allowing folks to quarantine for 7 days and all of this has very much been conjecture. I am not even going to cite any postings on this. I am just going to sort of note that it has been discussed kind of in a general manner. There does not appear, as of the time of this video, to be any real, affirmative, concrete steps being taken to lessen the amount of quarantine time. If anything, I think we are pretty well going to be locked in to a pretty hard and fast 14-day quarantine period for at least the upcoming weeks; the foreseeable future, in my mind at least the forthcoming 6 weeks, so through to the end of October.

Again the future always remains to be seen and as the authorities here kind of come more to grips with how best to smoothly process folks into the country, we may see quarantine times diminish. Again things remain to be seen.

I do not think as of the time of the making of this video and the publication for that matter, that we are probably very likely to see a diminishing of the amount of quarantine time required when coming into Thailand any time in the relatively near future.
