Can O-X Retirement Visa Holders Gain Admission to Thailand?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests we are discussing the O-X Visa.

In a recent posting from the Thai Embassy in Denmark, we also saw similar information on the Thai Embassy in Washington DC in the United States, but if you look there under Section 7 it says "Categories Permitted: this is for people seeking a Certificate of Entry to Thailand, it says "Foreigners under a special arrangement; Non-immigrant OA/OX; APEC card; Thailand Elite card and their spouses and children under 20 years old."

So O-X, what is an O-X Visa?  O-X visas are actually a very long stay Retirement Visas. It requires a more substantial financial commitment in terms of placing money on hand in a bank account here in Thailand and it is issued with a longer validity; basically 10 years or you can get 10 years in total on an O-X Visa. As we have discussed in other videos on this channel, it is not really a Visa for everyone but it is technically the Retirement Visa. It is being utilized by a relatively small subset of folks but there are people that do obtain the O-X to maintain long-term status here in the Kingdom of Thailand. As can be seen from this particular posting, the O-X now appears eligible for a Certificate of Entry.

As has been noted in other videos on this channel, the O Retirement Visa which oftentimes is issued here in the Kingdom in the form of an extension internally, it appears at least from our research and the way that we are reading the current regulations, that those type of visas are not currently eligible for a Certificate of Entry.

That stated, this whole situation is in a state of flux and we will keep you posted on the situation as best we can as the circumstances progress.
